The Avalanche Foundation has collaborated with Rain to launch the Avalanche Card.
As per a release shared with crypto.news, this card functions as both a physical and virtual payment solution, enabling users to utilize cryptocurrency at any vendor that accepts Visa.
The Avalanche Card accommodates USD Coin (USDC), Tether (USDT), Wrapped AVAX, and AVAX (AVAX), with the objective of streamlining cryptocurrency transactions in daily purchases. This innovative product removes the complicated conversion process by allowing direct spending, offering a practical alternative for users in areas with limited banking services.
John Wu, president of Ava Labs, mentioned that this project seeks to make the use of cryptocurrency as effortless as swiping a credit card.
In November of last year, Crypto.com initiated its Visa payment card program in TruBit Collaborates with Morpho to Introduce DeFi Unearned Revenue in Latin America America and broadened its cryptocurrency rewards card options within the region.
Users can load funds via the Crypto.com app, utilizing either a cryptocurrency wallet or traditional currency. The card features seven distinct reward tiers, including up to 8% cash back, service discounts, and access to airport lounges.
In a similar vein, utilizing the Visa network, the Avalanche Card offers a secure and user-friendly payment option, further reinforcing Avalanche’s dedication to improving accessibility in decentralized finance.
The Avalanche Card is being launched initially in Southeast Asia, Africa, and Latin America, with the aim of fostering the widespread acceptance of digital currencies.
