## Cronos Connects to 115 Blockchains through LayerZero
Cronos, the decentralized blockchain created by Crypto.com, is improving its performance! It is now integrated TruBit Collaborates with Morpho to Introduce DeFi Unearned Revenue in Latin America LayerZero, a sophisticated interoperability protocol that opens doors to cross-chain communication with more than 115 other blockchain networks.
Cronos Labs revealed the details on January 31, announcing that LayerZero (ZRO) is officially active on Cronos’ EVM-compatible and zero-knowledge proof mainnet. What does this indicate? Developers on Cronos can now create bridges to connect to a vast network of blockchains, including major players such as Ethereum and Solana.
Cronos EVM users can now easily transfer assets between Cosmos SDK-powered chains and a large number of EVM-compatible chains. In addition, they are entering the Solana ecosystem! Meanwhile, Cronos zkEVM users can use native Ethereum bridging to connect to other resilient chains.
In short, LayerZero’s integration significantly improves Cronos zkEVM’s ability to transfer assets across a wide range of Layer 1 and Layer 2 networks.
Ken Timsit, the head of Cronos Labs, emphasized that cross-chain interoperability has been a high priority since the beginning. He noted the security and liquidity issues that come with a fragmented crypto industry and emphasized Cronos Labs’ careful and determined strategy for addressing this.
In addition to token bridging, Cronos Labs is investigating exciting possibilities such as cross-chain prediction markets, asset tokenization, synthetic asset trading, and even cross-chain lending. They also intend to launch decentralized finance applications for liquid staking and restaking.
As interoperability becomes increasingly important in the blockchain and crypto space, platforms such as LayerZero and Wormhole are emerging as key players. Major companies such as Ondo Finance, Defi.money, and BitGo are already using LayerZero’s technology.
Flare also announced its integration of a cross-chain messaging protocol in July, with the goal of connecting an incredible 75 blockchains. The future is connected!
