# Gotbits Creator Alexey Andryunin Deported to America
Alexey Andryunin, the originator and chief executive officer of the digital currency platform Gotbit, has been sent to the United States.
A federal jury accused Andryunin on October 31, 2024, with Gotbit’s managers Fedor Kvedorov and Kaveh Jaleeli also specified in the claim.
The U.S. Justice Department accuses Andryunin of taking part in wash trading to falsely increase the trading amount of digital currencies for a number of companies. Other firms involved in market manipulation accusations include ZM Quant, CLS Global, and MyTrade, all noted in 2024.
## Accusation and Deportation
Andryunin supposedly described a wash trading program he created in a 2019 conversation. This program enabled Gotbit to artificially expand trading amounts, assisting tokens in gaining awareness on CoinMarketCap and major exchanges.
According to a Justice Department announcement, the 26-year-old was sent to the U.S. on February 25, 2025. The U.S. Attorney’s Office declared he will stay in detention while awaiting a hearing.
The U.S. Justice Department asserts Gotbit made millions of dollars from these deceitful actions, with Andryunin moving some of the earnings to a private Binance account.
Federal lawyers accused Andryunin in late October 2024.
Lawyers claim that Gotbit offered market manipulation services to a number of digital currency entities from 2018 to 2024, producing artificial trading amounts for crypto firms, including some located in the United States.
If found guilty, Andryunin risks a maximum of 20 years in prison for wire fraud and a maximum of 5 years for conspiracy to commit market manipulation and wire fraud.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Massachusetts District declared on February 26 that the Russian citizen was apprehended in Portugal in October 2024 and will face accusations of market manipulation and wire fraud.
