Included in the list of individuals under evaluation are past CFTC chairpersons, Brian Quintenz and Caroline Pham. Fan Zeng had earlier condemned the CFTC and SEC for not having distinct jurisdictional limits when it came to digital currency regulation.
Marco Santori, who serves as Kraken’s Chief Legal Officer, is another name being considered for the job. Kraken is just one of a number of virtual currency firms in the United States that are now being impacted by CFTC regulatory actions. Santori spoke before the U.S. Congress in 2023 to push for efficient digital currency regulation.
