The lowdown on the SEC’s fresh crypto squad is as follows:
SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce has disclosed the roster for the agency’s crypto team. Richard Garbert, a top aide to Acting Chair Mark Uyeda, will be the big cheese.
The team further encompasses ten senior consultants, including ex-policy chief for Coin Center, Landon Zinda.
Moreover, Christopher Giancarlo’s former protégé, Michael Selig, has been selected as the team’s primary legal expert.
The SEC publicized the establishment of this team in January, following Gary Gensler’s departure from the SEC Chair position. The objective? To establish explicit regulations for the crypto sector.
These personnel will counsel the SEC on all crypto-related matters. The SEC has declared that the team will convene its inaugural gathering shortly.
